My dreams as a girl…
I was the little girl that always dreamed that I would do something big with my life. As a young girl, I wanted to take Joan Lunden’s place on Good Morning America. To me, she was positive, up-beat and someone that added a little happiness to your morning. I wanted to be like her.
Later in life, I became a huge Oprah fan. I’m pretty sure I watched every show for her last 15 years on air. I wanted to offer something to the world like Oprah does. I had the desire to inspire people to be their best, to think of their life differently, and to open themselves up to the possibilities for their lives.
Well, life didn’t happen that way. After college, I found that I needed to get a job to make ends meet. The types of jobs I could get had nothing to do with inspiring others. It was work. Then I got married. Then I had kids. And life got busy and hectic. I never got to live those dreams.
I remember around my 35th birthday feeling numb. It was like I was in a hamster wheel everyday. Wake up, get ready, get the kids off, go to work, pick the kids up, eat dinner, clean the house, put my kids down, go to bed exhausted. The next day, do it all over again.
I didn’t have balance. I didn’t have a sense of purpose. I felt guilty as a mom to not be able to spend as much time with my kids as I wanted. In the mornings, we were so rushed that I usually was yelling at them to get into the car. I didn’t want to do that, and yet I was pressured to get to work on time.
Bottom line is that I didn’t like my life and I didn’t like how I felt. I also wasn’t taking care of myself. I had gained weight after the pregnancies. I wasn’t working out. I didn’t feel emotionally connected.
Enter Chalene Extreme
In December 2012, I decided that I was going to DO something about my situation. I committed to start working out again, to lose weight, to become stronger physically. Someone had mentioned the program Chalene Extreme to me. I started doing the program each morning before going to my corporate job.
I then joined some Facebook support groups for Chalene Extreme which really helped me to get through the 90 days. I did the COMPLETE program. I never missed a day or a workout. I felt AMAZING afterwards.
I absolutely loved being part of the online communities and I enjoyed being able to workout at home. I kept hearing about coaching but I thought it was a pyramid scheme. I didn’t think it was legit.
But, the more research I did, the more I learned that it’s a company of integrity that wants to help others live healthier and more fulfilling lives. I also learned that you can build a business to a full-time income.
I had so may fears going into it. I thought I might fail. I worried about what other people would think of me. I didn’t know if I could do it.
BUT, I had a REASON to do this. I wanted to be able to quit my corporate job and work from home. I wanted to be more present with my kids. I wanted to take my older daughter to the bus stop each morning. I wanted to go on field trips, volunteer at their schools, and be able to OWN my schedule. I wanted to design a life that I love.
The BIG Change
I started coaching in February 2013. I did Beachbody coaching part-time while working full-time at my corporate job. By April 2104, I was able to QUIT my full-time job and become a full-time Beachbody coach.
My life has completely changed. I now get to own my schedule. I get to be more present with my kids. Life is less stressed and more meaningful. I go on field trips, volunteer at the school, and get to be at the bus stop each morning with my daughter. My life is happier, healthier and more fulfilling. I have the balance I want.
The most amazing thing is that I now get to live my purpose. I didn’t get to be Joan Lunden or Oprah, but I do get to do something I LOVE each day. I get to grow personally, I get to inspire others, I get to help other women build their dreams and design a life they love. I would like you to learn more about joining my team and becoming a coach too!
