Country Heat Review
Country Heat Review
I just got EXCLUSIVE access to this new program so I wanted to give you a Country Heat Review and also share a video of me doing the workout. This is a brand new workout program with Autumn Calabrese that incorporates country dance style moves to great country music.
I’ll be honest. I’ve haven’t done country line dancing in over 20 years and I don’t listen to much country music. I wasn’t expecting to like the program. But, I decided to give it a shot to see what it was all about. I was actually surprised how fun it is. Here are some of my thoughts.

Country Heat Review – The Moves
First of all, if you are new to country line dancing, there is the Country Heat Break Down video where Autumn goes through each of the steps in detail so you can learn it and practice it. But, if you are pretty coordinated, you won’t need that. You can just start right away with the workout (that’s what I did).
In the workout that I did, you learn two moves in each segment that are 8 counts each. You practice each move on it’s own. Then you do both moves together. I found it easy to follow and fun.
Here’s a list of some of the moves we did. The most INTERESTING has to be “Ride the Horse”. It’s pretty funny.
- Mosey
- Side Mosey
- Heel Digs
- Toe Digs
- Country Swing
- Tumbleweed Roll
- Clodhopper
- Lasso
- Grapevine
- Honky Tonk Turn
- Ride the Horse
Country Heat Review – The Music
I thought the music was fun and I liked that it included lyrics. In the workout I did, there were a number of different songs over the 30 minute period (see below). I am guessing that when the DVDs are released, there will be an option to only play the music and not have the instruction from Autumn once you get the moves down.

Country Heat Review – The Workout
I was truly surprised at how much I sweat while doing this workout. I did a 30 minute workout and burned over 250 calories. That’s a lot for me. That’s only slightly less than what I burn when doing Insanity with Shaun T to give you an idea. You do have to work and you are inconstant movement the entire workout.
The workout is a low impact workout. You can do some moves to make it a higher impact workout (which you will see some of the other cast members doing). There’s also a modifier which does not do any jumping and keeps everything low impact.

One thing I really like is that you tend to use your whole body (legs, arms, core, back, etc.). So, you really get an overall body workout.
